A dammed lake, waterfall and primeval beech forest

From Route 156 in Hirase Hot Spring Village, the Hakusan National Park, Ooshirakawa district is located approximately 13 kilometers along the Prefectural Hakusan National Park Highway. Untouched nature such as primeval beech and oak forests remain in Ooshirakawa, allowing visitor to enjoy grand nature. The district will relax both your body and mind through attractions such as the emerald green Lake Hakusui, the Hakusui Waterfall with an uninterrupted drop of 72 meters, lodges and outdoor baths with water from Ooshirakawa River.

Turn right at the entrance to Shirakawa-go Interchange on the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway and proceed to Route 156 (the Hietsukyo-Gashou Line).
After 1.5 kilometers, turn left at Hatoya Intersection. Proceed straight for 650 meters and then turn right at Ogimachi Intersection. Drive towards Hirase Hot Springs.
Pass the Hakusan Road Station and turn right at the gas station and proceed along Route 451 in the direction of Ooshirakawa. (Route 451 is closed in winter.)
Hakusui Lakeside Lodge and the Ooshirakawa Outdoor Baths are open only from early June to late October.
